Respite care provides short‑term support for individuals and those who normally provide their day-to-day care, whether this is a family member or a professional.
Freda Gunton Lodge and Cheviot Nursing Home are pleased to offer high‑quality respite stays.
Designed to ensure comfort, safety, and continuity of care, these short stays give families and regular carer’s the opportunity to rest, take a holiday, or attend personal commitments, knowing that their loved one is receiving expert support. Respite care can also be ideal for post‑operative recovery, hospital discharge, providing temporary assistance during emergencies, or to help rebuild confidence and independence.
Our team works closely with each person to understand their health needs, daily routines, and individual goals. Together, we develop a tailored care plan that promotes recovery, independence, and overall wellbeing. Respite stays also offer the opportunity of developing new friendships, social interactions that can boost mood and reduce feelings of isolation.
When staying with us, we work together to create a care plan for regaining independence and we listen to your current health needs to get a picture of your life prior to coming into our care. By understanding your recovery goals and aspirations, we aim to remove some of the strain of everyday life and get you safely back to feeling like yourself again.
Respite stays are available for a minimum of two weeks and a maximum of six weeks within our 24‑hour residential or nursing services.
